Contributing To 18 Focus Groups On Fever Management To Inform A Workshop

Challenge

A non-profit organisation focused on improving how illnesses with fever symptoms are diagnosed and treated in low- and middle-income countries asked for our help to gain insight into how fever is currently managed, as well as the associated need for streamlined diagnostic tools. We supported focus groups across three continents and used the outputs to inform a multi-stakeholder workshop involving policymakers.

Approach

We provided organisational and writing support for the focus groups and designed a social media campaign to identify potential attendees. We also managed the organisation of the workshop for a group of 50.

Results

We contributed toward an extensive report summarising insights from 18 focus groups as well as the development of a workshop discussing the findings among researchers and policymakers. Via a multi-channel social media campaign, we increased focus group enrolment from target countries. The client appreciated our integrated qualitative research approach, the data-rich focus groups were well received, and actionable takeaways emerged from the workshop.
